ISS’s Annual U.K. Regatta Features Big Wind and Unwavering Support for Sail4Cancer 6/15/2017

Six teams took part in the International Superyacht Society (ISS) Annual Regatta 2nd- 4th June, racing between Hamble and Cowes. The crews raced in a matched fleet of Fairview Sailing’s Beneteau Oceanis 37 yachts.

ISS’s Role in the Large Yacht and Passenger Yacht Code Review Process 2/13/2017

On behalf of the ISS Technical Committee as its Co-Chair, Peter Southgate of Wright Maritime Group attended the first Working Group meeting for the Large Yacht and Passenger Yacht Code revision, held in Pisa Italy on the 9th February 2017. This follows the kick-off meeting introducing the review during the London Boat Show in January.

ISS Announces 2017-2020 Board of Directors 2/7/2017

The ISS (International Superyacht Society) announces its 2017-2020 Board of Directors and Past Presidents Council. For the current year and based on a member-based democratic voting system, ISS stakeholders have awarded eight Board positions for three years for the 2017-2020 term.

2017 Board of Directors Election
If you are an ISS member, a key benefit is voting. Each January, members vote for eight individuals to join the ISS Board of Directors, those who sustain the Society by their vision and prioritize the initiatives and actions undertaken for the good of the industry. Each year's ballot represents both end-of-term directors and nominees as submitted by members, another privilege membership affords. As is the case each year, the 2017 ballot includes the large yacht industry's most compelling people. If you are not a member, join today! You have until midnight 3 February 2017 to cast your vote.

Board Member Profile-Derik Wagner-Wagner & Associates
Derik is currently serving his third and final year of his three-year term as International Superyacht Society President (while also running for another three-year board term). His main goal has been to grow ISS's membership by streamlining and clarifying its value proposition to members. To ensure sustainability and excellence for this industry, he has been a voice for a larger campaign to promote the yachting lifestyle to potential new yachting enthusiasts. In his "day job," he is now providing technology and communications consultancy as Wagner & Associates.

Sylke auf dem Graben is PR & Marketing Manager at Lürssen. She is responsible for all marketing and advertising activities for 14 years, while her career in yachting began in 1991. "What I like most about my job is that you do a bit of traveling but the best thing is the good relationships I have with so many other people in this industry. When we see each other at boat shows, it feels like a family gathering. I appreciate that fact very much."
