As the year draws to a close, I want to take this opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments of the International Superyacht Society over the past year. Together, we have achieved significant milestones that underscore our collective commitment to excellence, innovation, and collaboration within the superyacht industry.

One of our key initiatives this year was the successful launch of the Talent Pledge. This initiative was born from the growing need to address the skills gap in our industry, and the response from our members has been nothing short of inspiring. By sharing knowledge, offering internships, and creating opportunities for the next generation, we are building a strong foundation for the future. Your contributions have been vital in ensuring that the superyacht industry remains vibrant and prepared for the challenges ahead.

This year also saw the continued success of our Leadership Series, which has become an essential forum for meaningful dialogue. The September event at the Fairmont Monte Carlo was a particular highlight, bringing together industry leaders to discuss evolving challenges and opportunities in the refit space. These conversations are critical to shaping the future of yachting, and I am grateful to everyone who contributed to the success of these events.

Another exciting development this year was the debut of the Meet the Fleet Program. This initiative connects member businesses directly with captains and senior crew, fostering a better understanding of how products and services are experienced onboard. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are excited to expand this program in the coming year to deepen these invaluable connections.

This year, we worked with our Ambassadors to enhance your membership through exciting networking opportunities and industry partnerships. Collaborations included events with the International SeaKeepers Society, YPY, Ferretti Group, the Riviera Yachting Symposium with ECPY, member discounts for YARE in Italy and the Superyacht Technology Show in Barcelona.

While we celebrate these accomplishments, we also take a moment to honor the creativity, innovation, and craftsmanship that define our industry. This year’s International Design & Leadership Awards Gala continued its proud tradition of recognizing outstanding achievements in superyacht design and leadership. The event was a big success despite the rain!  These celebrations remind us why we are so passionate about this industry and its incredible potential.

As we head into the holiday season and look ahead to 2025, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our members —especially our Board of Directors, Ambassadors, Committee Chairs, and Committee Members—our sponsors, and staff Vanessa Stuart and Maggie McDonald and everyone who has supported the ISS this year. Your dedication, support, vision, and collaboration have made all of these achievements possible. Together, we are not just responding to change but actively shaping the future of yachting.

If you are not actively participating on an ISS committee, we encourage you to do so!

I extend my heartfelt wishes to you and your families for health, happiness, peace and joy in the new year! Here’s to another year of growth, innovation, and shared success.

With warm regards,
