The International Superyacht Society has been working behind the scenes with a number of yacht managers, maritime attorneys, insurance professionals and Flag-states for the advancement of technical, regulatory, education and crew welfare matters.

At the September 2019 Monaco Yacht Show, the Society held an event that brought sixty high level professionals from flag, yacht management, maritime law and yacht insurance together for a ground-breaking meeting to establish the International Superyacht Society’s Yacht Management Committee.

The Yacht Management Committee will join three other Society outward leaning industry engaged committees: Education, Technical and Bridge. These committees all have top industry professionals participating and are making important things happen for the industry.

ISS President and founding Chairman of the Technical committee, captain AJ Anderson, believes that the Yacht Management Committee will develop into an independent body as the Yacht Management Advisory Council, whose members will continue at ISS Committee level with ISS Bridge, Education and Technical to bring projects related to environmental, technical, regulatory, education and crew welfare matters together for actionable results.

Captain Anderson shares: “Clive Harrison of Riela Yachts and Graeme Lord of Fairport Support, have the integrity, dedication, background and expertise to lead the Society’s Yacht Management Committee in its inaugural year.” AJ goes on to say, “Thanks to the good work of all of our committees, and especially Education, Technical, Bridge and Yacht Management, the Society will be the global industry leader in getting good things done.”

In the last two years, the Society has grown the membership from its long standing 350 membership count to over 1000 members and sees a path to over 3000 members in less than two years. There are twelve nationalities of industry leaders are on the Board of Directors and over 40 nationalities in the membership. ISS has working partnerships with PYA, IYBA and Seakeepers that is making our ability to support of the industry and the regions impacted in a substantial manner.

Please contact the ISS Office team, Vanessa and Maggie, if you are interested in joining any of these committees.
